Description

A collection of six die-cast model promotional delivery vans and associated paper ephemera. This group features four models by Lledo and two by Oxford Die-Cast, all presented in their original window display boxes. The Lledo examples include a red Ford Model T van with a cream roof, decorated with an Ovaltine 75 Years anniversary livery, housed in a red box marked “MODELS OF DAYS GONE BY LLEDO” and “© 1983 Lledo (London) Ltd.”. Also included are three Tetley Tea promotional models: two dark blue 1931 Morris vans with “Tetley’s Teas Est 1837” gold-tone lettering in blue and white striped boxes, and one white “Variety Club Sunshine Coach” transit-style van in a red and blue striped box.

The two Oxford Die-Cast models are housed in tan window boxes and comprise a blue Ford Model T style van with “75 Years” graphics and a white and green example featuring “John West Pink Salmon” advertising. The lot is accompanied by original Tetley Tea promotional ephemera, including a “Vintage Van Collection” order form dated 30 September 1991 and an illustrated advertisement for a cardboard building and delivery van.

Condition report:

The models are in excellent, unused condition and remain within their original packaging. The die-cast paintwork and graphics appear vibrant and intact across all vehicles (photos 1, 2, 3). The original window boxes show minor signs of shelf wear, including light scuffing to the plastic windows and slight softening or creasing at the cardboard corners (photo 1). The paper ephemera remains in good order with typical light handling creases consistent with age (photo 1).
