Description
A collection of wristwatches comprising various vintage and modern examples in a variety of styles. The group includes several pieces by Lorus, featuring gold-tone and silver-tone cases with quartz movements, and a gold-tone watch marked Citron on a black leather strap. Notable pieces within the collection include a black and yellow plastic diver style watch marked Scene Sports with a rotating bezel, a black ceramic style watch marked Yintai, and a square-dial watch with a light blue strap marked Constant. The assortment also features a gold-tone LED style watch with a rectangular red crystal, a skeletonised watch with a mechanical movement visible through the dial on a black mesh strap, and a gold-tone bangle watch. The collection utilises a mix of materials including gold-tone and silver-tone base metal plating, stainless steel, and ವಿವಿಧ plastics and resins. Straps include stainless steel link bracelets, expanding metal bands, and leather and silicone straps in various colours such as pink and blue.
Condition report:
The collection is in a mixed, used condition with several items showing signs of age and wear. Significant plating wear and brassing is visible on many of the gold-tone cases and bracelets, particularly on the Citron watch and several Lorus examples (photo 1). Scratches and scuffs are present on various acrylic and mineral crystals throughout the group (photo 2). Several leather straps show heavy wear, including cracking and peeling (photo 1). The yellow and black strap on the Scene Sports watch shows visible fraying and accumulated dirt (photo 1). The working status of these watches is unverified, and many may require new batteries or movement servicing.
