Description

A collection of vintage costume jewellery dating predominantly from the mid to late 20th century. The assortment includes a variety of plastic bangles in various forms, such as wave-edged, flat, and rounded profiles in a palette of primary and pastel colours; one notable blue bangle features a stepped Art Deco style geometric motif. The group contains several beaded necklaces, including imitation cream-coloured pearls, a double strand of orange and green graduated plastic beads, and a strand of large purple plastic beads.

The lot includes multiple pairs of clip-on and pierced earrings. Notable examples are presented on original retail cards, including a card of enamel cat-shaped studs marked Joe Cool, Shobrook & Co, 374, Plymouth, and several pairs on cards reading Fashion Earrings or Fashion Rings. Also present is an original red retail packet reading POP BEADS, Interlocking Beads, Unbreakable, Made in Hong Kong, with a K+B logo. Other items include a gold-tone anchor brooch in a striped presentation box, a green enamel four-leaf clover pin, and a silver-tone bracelet set with five rectangular shell sections. Various items carry adhesive labels with handwritten prices such as 50p, 60p, 95p, £1.25, and £1.50.

Condition report:

The collection is in generally good vintage condition. Visible surface wear and light scratching are present on several plastic bangles consistent with age and use (photo 1). Some metal components on the earrings and necklaces show minor oxidation and plating wear (photo 4). One faux pearl cluster earring exhibits visible discoloration to the pearl finish (photo 3). The original retail packaging for the Pop Beads and various earring cards shows edge wear, creasing, and old price markings (photo 7).
