Description

A collection of framed artworks comprising various mediums including needlepoint, oil on board, and prints on paper and silk. The group features a large needlepoint work depicting four horse heads in profile, set within a stained wood frame. A black and white pencil or charcoal drawing on paper portrays a spaniel, signed M. Sibley in the lower right corner and housed in a black frame. The collection includes a textured oil painting on board depicting a bouquet of anemones in a white frame, alongside a pair of small, matching oil paintings showing floral still lifes in dark vases, presented in ornate gilt style frames with linen liners.

A needlepoint sampler is included, featuring a central floral bouquet above a banner reading Sow seeds of hope for the next Millennium 1999, with a border listing botanical names such as Magnolia, Honeysuckle, and Rose. Also present is a print of white calla lilies, signed Gary R. Smith in the lower right, and a Japanese style print or painting on silk depicting a long-tailed bird among blossoms in a thin gold-toned frame.

Condition report:

The collection shows visible signs of age and wear. Notable foxing and brown spot discoloration are present on the mount of the Gary R. Smith calla lily print (photo 3) and the Millennium needlepoint sampler (photo 5). The frames exhibit minor scuffs and surface wear to the edges (photo 1). The needlepoint works appear structurally sound within their respective frames.
