Description

A detailed scale model of a naval muzzle-loading cannon, mounted on an oak-veneer wooden plinth. The cannon features a barrel cast from yellow metal, possibly brass or bronze, with a smooth bore and reinforced muzzle flare. The barrel is supported by a wooden truck carriage of eighteenth or nineteenth-century naval design, fitted with four wooden wheels and secured with brass style hardware. The assembly includes miniature artillery accessories mounted to the base: a wooden rammer with a felt-covered head, a wooden worm or cooling tool, and two wooden quoins used for adjusting the elevation of the barrel. No manufacturer markings or inscriptions are visible on the metalwork or the wooden components.

Condition report:

The model appears to be in excellent condition with no visible faults. The metal barrel shows a light and even patina consistent with age (photo 1). The wooden carriage, tools, and plinth are well-preserved with a clean finish and all components appear securely attached (photo 2). The felt on the rammer tool is intact (photo 3).
