Lot 294:
Sold for: £7
Description
A Guardette solid fuel fireplace kit produced by Manor Reproductions Ltd as part of The Manor Collection. The set is housed in its original black retail packaging and comprises a fire front, grate, ash pan, and a handle. The components are finished in black. The packaging features a printed illustration of the contents alongside a fireside scene. Text on the box identifies the product as “Guardette SOLID FUEL KIT” and specifies a “Width: 400mm (16″)”, noting that these dimensions refer to a standard tapered fireplace opening. The manufacturer is identified on a side panel by a printed label reading “MANOR REPRODUCTIONS LTD, Unit C, Hanbury Road, Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire B60 4AE”. The top of the box is marked with “THE MANOR COLLECTION FIRESIDE” surrounding a central vignette of a manor house.
Condition report:
The kit is contained within its original cardboard retail packaging, which is currently secured with a pink plastic strap (photo 1). The box shows significant signs of age and storage wear, including heavy creasing, scuffing to the printed surface, and peeling at the corners and edges (photo 1). Surface dirt and dust are visible across the exterior. As the box remains sealed by the manufacturer\'s strap, the internal condition of the metal fireplace components has not been verified, though they are assumed to be in an unused state.
