Description
A collection of twelve vintage costume jewellery brooches, pins, and badges in various styles and materials. The lot comprises a Scottish plume brooch featuring multi-coloured feathers set into a thistle-motif mount with an amber-coloured stone, in a tartan-patterned presentation case labelled ‘Scottish Plume, Made in the Highlands of Scotland’. Also included is a silver-tone dragonfly brooch pavé-set with magenta rhinestones and iridescent aurora borealis crystals, and a floral spray brooch set with pink, amber, and clear stones with faux pearls in a gold-tone mount. The group features several circular brooches, including one with turquoise-blue stones and green foil-backed cabochons in a case with an interior lid stamped ‘SILVER’, and another set with light blue and clear crystals. Small pewter-style pins depicting a vintage tractor and a horse are housed in a shared case. The collection is completed by a silver-tone eagle badge with red enamel lettering reading ‘KAWASAKI’, a large textured leaf brooch, a small insect-motif brooch with green stones, a floral spray with carved pink resin petals, and a filigree fan-shaped brooch.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good vintage condition. One light-coloured circular stain is visible on the fabric lining of the small gold-coloured box containing the light blue crystal brooch (photo 5). There is some minor surface tarnishing to the metal mounts and general wear to the exterior of the presentation boxes consistent with age. No missing stones are visible in the provided photographs.
