Description
A four piece Viners of Sheffield silver plated tea and coffee set with three matching napkin rings. The group comprises a coffee pot, a teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, and a cream jug, all designed in a traditional Georgian style with pear-shaped bodies and supported by four scrolled, foliate-capped feet. Each vessel features a domed lid topped with a pinecone finial and scroll handles with integrated thumb rests. The cream jug interior displays a decorative copper-toned wash. The base of the vessels carries an impressed mark reading VINERS SILVER PLATED SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. The three napkin rings feature a matching engraved foliate pattern around the exterior.
Condition report:
All items exhibit significant surface tarnish and oxidation across the silver plated finish (photo 1). The handle of the larger coffee pot is completely detached from the body at both joining points (photo 1). There is visible wear to the plating on the interior of the cream jug and the napkin rings, showing the base metal beneath. Scattered surface scratches and minor pitting are present across the set consistent with age and use.
