Description

A collection of curiosities and decorative objects featuring a variety of materials including terracotta, wood, mineral, glass, and metal. The lot is centred by a large terracotta pottery vessel of Pre-Columbian style, supported by two sculpted human figures. Horological items include a Newgate England shelf clock with a floral-decorated green base and a pyramidal wooden desk clock with a white dial. The collection features several bird figurines, including a large speckled goose, two smaller ducks, and a patinated bronze-effect duck. Wooden items comprise a leaf-shaped bowl, a turned goblet, and a rectangular black box with botanical motifs. Minerals are represented by a large amethyst geode, polished river stones, and a crystal cluster. Metalware includes silver-plated sugar tongs and several spoons. Glass items include a green Codd-neck bottle and a terrarium. The Newgate clock face is marked Newgate ENGLAND in printed Roman numerals. A blue metal box with autumn leaf decoration is also included.

Condition report:

The terracotta vessel shows minor abrasions and surface wear consistent with its material (photo 1). The patinated metal duck shows surface oxidation and typical age-related patina (photo 4). The Newgate clock appears in good structural condition with minor surface dust (photo 3). The wooden items show light surface scuffing but no visible cracks (photo 2). The mineral specimens appear intact with natural inclusions (photo 5). No other visible faults were observed across the group.
