Description

A collection of elephant figures and trophies crafted in various styles and materials. The assortment includes several hand-carved dark wood elephant head wall plaques and masks, possibly made of ebony or a similar hardwood, featuring inset light-coloured tusks and eyes likely made of bone or synthetic material. One wooden head is mounted on a natural-edge wood plaque. The lot further includes a larger composite sculpture depicting a herd of five elephants in a rugged, textured style with a dark brown and green patina, set upon an integral rocky-textured base. Also present is a smaller cast metal or heavy resin elephant head with long, curved tusks. The wooden pieces are characterised by smooth, polished surfaces and stylised forms. Adhesive labels marked S702C are present on some items. No manufacturer or artist marks are visible on the pieces.

Condition report:

The collection shows varying signs of age and display wear. Several wooden pieces exhibit surface abrasions, dust accumulation in carved crevices, and minor chips to the ears and tusks (photos 1 and 2). The central composite herd sculpture shows areas of surface wear and paint loss, particularly on the raised edges of the trunks and ears (photo 1). The smaller cast head shows some surface dust and minor wear to the tusks (photo 1).
