FORTNIGHTLY HOUSE CLEARANCE AUCTION Wed 22 Jul 2026 at 10:00
Lot 263:
Sold for: £2
Description
This mid-20th-century wall-mounted tilting mirror is designed for functional use in a bathroom or dressing area. The piece features a slim, rectangular frame constructed from polished chrome-plated metal, supported by two circular wall-mounting pivot brackets that allow for an adjustable viewing angle. The reverse of the mirror is fitted with a solid metal backing plate. The design reflects a utilitarian modernist aesthetic characteristic of the mid-to-late 20th century. While some indistinct characters are visible on the mounting brackets, they are not clearly legible for a definitive manufacturer attribution.
Condition report:
The mirror glass appears to be in good overall condition, providing a clear reflection without significant signs of foxing, desilvering, or major scratches. The chrome-plated frame and mounting brackets show light surface scuffs, minor pitting to the metal, and general wear consistent with age and previous utility. The pivot mechanism appears intact.
